In 2009 we launched the Pearl Street Campaign in Vicksburg, MS. At one time, the Pearl Street Park had been a place for connection and celebration a in the heart of the thriving Pearl neighborhood. By 2009, however, the Pearl Street community face economic hardship and the park was neglected to the point that it became overrun with dirt, vegetation, and broken equipment.

We partnered with the City of Vicksburg to revitalize the park and used it as a base to reach the neighborhood. Funded by International Paper and in collaboration with community organizations such as MADD, we produced a series of events to bring solutions to the neighborhood’s needs. Some of the events were broadcast live to show the potential of the Pearl Street Community.
